I wanted to get to this sooner...

  • Mood: Sadness
  • Listening to: a dog barking to the tune of X
  • Reading: web junk
  • Watching: Ninja Warrior (because people falling is funny)
  • Playing: a game I can not win at.
  • Eating: noodles
  • Drinking: Whiskey.
I'm sure most of you know by reading almost any comic/manga/anime website (heck I'm sure the drunken hobo that you passed on the corner today knows by know) that Tokyopop is doing the restructuring thing. Due to cutbacks, many OEL books are being canceled or have been delegated to online viewing.

I want to reassure you that The Dark Goodbye vol 2 has been printed and will be distributed to stores on schedule (July 8th)!

However that doesn't mean that these aren't sad times. The fact still remains that a lot of hard working artists could use your support. If you know of, or follow the work of any of these talented individuals, show them some undead love!!!

As for the future of TDG... well that's up to you, the fans. If you enjoyed what Frank and I have done thus far, spread the word. Tell your friends. Tell your friends friends. Tell little Johnny. Tell Virgina, yes there are Elder Gods that want to eat your soul.

We appreciate all your support. And cupcakes.

Definitely upsetting about Tokyopop...I've heard some rumors though that a lot of creators will get the rights to their work back so they can publish/submit them to other places...(think this was from a Lying in the Gutters column?)

It's not only upsetting, but also rather unsettling that things have gotten this bad.

I've heard the rumors too. Many of those titles may be seeing the light of day with another publisher. We shall see what happens.

Arg! I can't believe it! But I will most definitely take it to the streets that the DGB needs to be kept going. I don't want the DGB to retire after just a few episodes!!
Yeah I hope it works out for them...hopefully things will eventually start looking up for Tokyopop too...:)
